The Our Open Space project is an initiative by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Youth Engagement in partnership with Kisky Netmedia.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service Youth Engagement
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service has a dedicated Youth Engagement Team, delivering a series of award-winning educational programmes, engaging with a wide range of young people, both marginalized and mainstream.
In 2006 MF&RS received Beacon status in early intervention (Children at Risk), the only Fire Service in the UK to receive this prestigious award.
Achieving a real and lasting reduction in fires, fire-related deaths and injuries in Merseyside requires more than just an effective emergency response service. By working with young people in team & individual activities MF&RS YE in partnership with other agencies, has helped to achieve safer communities by creating fire safe citizens.
Kisky Netmedia
Kisky Netmedia Ltd is a future thinking, and award winning Liverpool based Social Media Consultancy. Kisky began working with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service to explore how Open Source technologies, and Social Media tools (collectively “Emerging Technologies”) could be used by the Fire Service to enhance the delivery of, and to create new forms of Youth Engagement. We help forward thinking organisations in the UK and Europe explore and get to know the Social Media space. We work to enable organisations to quick start their use of online communities and social media tools. We design intelligent technology and business strategies based on the use of emerging, and open source technologies. http://www.kisky.co.uk
